I’m Christmas-mad. I grew up in the northern hemisphere but have spent roughly half my life in the southern hemisphere. So, the cold weather hits (around May) and I think, Time to start getting ready for Christmas! and, well, I do. But since I’ve been in the southern hemisphere for so long, the hot weather hits (around October) and I think, Time to start getting ready for Christmas! As a result, I often buy presents way too far in advance. The other day I found a present that would be perfect for my MIL. The price was great too. Then I thought, Hold on, I’ve got her Christmas for this year, I’ve got her Christmas for next year, do I really want to get her Christmas for 2018? I decided that was just crazy and put it back – then checked my little Christmas notebook and discovered I’ve already got her Christmas for 2018 too. So, yeah, I’d say I’m a little bit out of control.

In reply to Latoya @ Life and a Budget. Absolutely Latoya! We put most of the gifts we purchase on a credit card so we can get the rewards, but we have the money in the back to pay it all off right away. It makes gift-giving more fun!

I so start planning for Christmas earlier than everyone else for all the reasons you mentioned. Christmas isn’t a fun time if I’m running up my credit card with no plan on how to pay it back.

I so need to start saving for Christmas. I’m gonna try and get a budget going for it soon. Only six months away…yeah I need to get on that. Good post.
