In reply to Ann. @Christine, I’ve been wondering how people get all their laundry done one one day. I don’t have a dryer so I’m always at the mercy of how quickly things dry based on the weather in summer, which in the UK can be temperamental . We have a heated airer for the winter though.

In reply to Ann. That's a great idea to make a note on a calendar when to wash extra stuff. Sometimes I forget to wash our matress pad and blankets.

I keep a pocketbook size calendar on top of my dresser to notate when I do sheets, towels and blankets as sometimes I don’t always do them on a specific day and may forget that they haven’t been done lately. The other laundry piles up, so you do them when you get a full load which is how you save on water and soap. We have an HE washer which is great for that reason because they use less soap and water.

I love to do laundry, it’s my favorite chore. I don’t have a dryer so I hang everything up to dry. In the winter this is so nice because it helps keep the air from being too dry. I like to listen to audiobooks while I work. Now dishes on the other hand, I can’t stand!

A timer is probably the most important thing for me when doing laundry! I try to do at least one or two loads throughout the week, so that I can have some free time in my weekend. However, most of the time I spend one weekend day marathoning [if that’s a word!] my laundry. I am also OCD about putting clothes away warm, so I couldn’t wait to do it all at once. I think it’s because the warmth makes me happy.
