@Beth Bertsch, i do the same but soak my potatoes in water after cutting to remove as much starch as possible, then season them. Tastes better than frozen.

Yup, we get almost all of our groceries at Aldi! It took a week or two of reading every label while grocery shopping, but we found what we like that works. Favorites are the 85% dark chocolate and whole wheat mini bagels!

Also, like you, I am a big Aldi shopper and I assume that is where you found your zero sugar groceries. Hope you will share since you have already done the hard part--LOL! Especially the dark chocolate!

Thank you Beth!! We've done our own fries in the past and they are SO yummy! Right now, when we use the store bought ones, it's basically for a meal that requires no work for me - I just dump frozen stuff on the pan and put it in the oven! Though, with the warmer weather, I'll be using the oven much less! I'll have to do homemade fries again in the fall. They really are so good!

Hi Christine!
I think this sounds great- I’m going to try this ?.
But I did want to tell you that those fries you enjoy?
So EASY to make yourself with no processing!
You simply take a russet , wash it, peel it or not, cut in half lengthwise, and then again until you have desired thickness. Preheat oven at 425. Place on cookie sheet kind of spread out. Then drizzle small amount of extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper. Toss with your fingers and bake 20-25 min. It’s great if you turn them over half way thru. Delish! No added junk. You can do this with a yam too! Just be sure to peel the yam first.
Thanks for your input. Can’t wait to try the no sugar diet!

Hey Erin! I get our bread from Aldi. We like their whole wheat mini bagels, ciabatta buns, and sometimes the sourdough bread. I also like the Thomas brand multi grain english muffins; they have a ton of fiber!

I want to clean up my diet a bit, but it can be hard to see what all you can eat when you are told to not eat xyz. For some reason, it stops me in my tracks. I love that you included examples of what you do eat, and they all do seem very filling. Going sugar free doesn't seem like too big of a deal to me, but I am not a big fan of sugar. Outside of having a soda every few days and pasta [which I have cut back on tremendously], I don't really eat much with sugar in it. What brand of bread are you eating? I know white bread is not good, because of how processed it is.
